Abjad Academy was created by an Arabic language educator, and a librarian with years of experience teaching Arabic to children in weekend and community school settings in Canada.
What began as a personal search for structured, reliable, and ready-to-use Arabic teaching resources grew into something much larger، a complete curriculum platform built from the ground up for the children who need it most.
This platform was not built in a classroom. It was built on Sunday mornings, in community halls, in the margins of lesson plans, and in the quiet hours after school، by someone who knows exactly what it feels like to teach Arabic with passion and almost no proper resources to draw from.
Why Abjad Academy Exists
Arabic language education for children living outside the Arab world faces a quiet crisis. Teachers arrive to their classrooms every week with enthusiasm and dedication but often without a structured curriculum, without clearly defined outcomes, and without resources that speak to the real lives of children growing up between two languages and two cultures.
Parents who want to pass Arabic to their children struggle to find materials that are age-appropriate, linguistically sound, and practically usable at home. Weekend and community schools build their programs from scratch, year after year, with little to show for it when teachers change or circumstances shift.
Abjad Academy exists to change this. It is a home one organized, trusted, and complete place، where every teacher, parent, coordinator, and school can find what they need to teach Arabic with confidence, consistency, and joy.

Built on strong academic foundations.
Abjad Academy’s curriculum was developed in alignment with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages — the CEFR — the internationally recognized standard for language learning, teaching, and assessment used by educators and institutions across the world.
Every level from Pre-KG through Level 9 is mapped to the CEFR scale, with outcomes, vocabulary, grammar, and skills benchmarks carefully calibrated to each age group and proficiency level.
Beyond the CEFR, the curriculum draws on established second language acquisition research. The work of Stephen Krashen on comprehensible input and the natural order of acquisition informs how vocabulary and grammar are introduced and sequenced. Lev Vygotsky’s concept of the zone of proximal development and scaffolded learning shapes how each level builds on the one before it. Michael Long’s Interaction Hypothesis, which places meaningful communication at the heart of language development, is reflected in the dialogue-based, context-rich activities woven through every unit.
These are not theoretical footnotes. They are practical teaching decisions embedded into the design of every lesson, every outcome, and every weekly guide on this platform.

مَن نحن
أكاديمية أبجد من إنشاء مُعلِّمة لغة عربية وأمينة مكتبة، تمتلك سنواتٍ من الخبرة في تدريس العربية للأطفال في مدارس عطلة نهاية الأسبوع والمجتمعات العربية في كندا. بدأت الفكرة بحثاً شخصياً عن موارد تعليمية منظَّمة وموثوقة وجاهزة للاستخدام، ثم تحوَّلت إلى شيء أكبر بكثير، منصة منهجية متكاملة أُسِّست من الصفر للأطفال الذين يحتاجونها أكثر من غيرهم.
لم تُبنَ هذه المنصة في قاعات الدراسة النظامية، بل بُنيت في صباحات الأحد، وفي القاعات المجتمعية، وفي هوامش خطط الدروس، وفي ساعات الهدوء ما بعد المدرسة من قِبَل شخص يعرف تماماً كيف يبدو أن تُدرِّس العربية بشغف ولا تجد في يدك إلا القليل مما يُعينك.
لماذا وُجِدت أكاديمية أبجد
يواجه تعليم اللغة العربية للأطفال المقيمين خارج العالم العربي أزمةً صامتة. يصل المعلمون إلى فصولهم كل أسبوع بحماس وتفانٍ لكن كثيراً ما يفتقرون إلى منهج منظَّم، ونتائج تعليمية واضحة، وموارد تتحدث إلى واقع أطفال يكبرون بين لغتين وثقافتين.
وأكاديمية أبجد وُجِدت لتغيير هذا الواقع. إنها بيت واحد منظَّم وموثوق ومتكامل يجد فيه كل معلم ووليّ أمر ومنسِّق ومدرسة ما يحتاجه لتعليم العربية بثقة واتساق وفرح.
منهجيتنا
إطار مرن لا نص جامد
دلائل المنهج في هذه المنصة هي أُطر عمل منظَّمة بعناية، لا نصوص ثابتة لا تقبل التعديل. كل معلم ومنسِّق وولي أمر مؤتمَن على تكييف المحتوى وتعديله وإثرائه وفق احتياجات طلابه، ومتطلبات مدرسته أو برنامجه، وواقع بيئته التعليمية. تُوفِّر نتائج التعلم ودلائل الأسابيع توجيهاً واضحاً وموثوقاً أما الطريق إليها فأنت من يرسمه.
مبنيَّة على أسس أكاديمية راسخة
طُوِّر منهج أكاديمية أبجد بما يتوافق مع الإطار الأوروبي المرجعي المشترك للغات — CEFR — المعيار الدولي المعترَف به في تعليم اللغات وتقييمها وتدريسها، والمعتمَد لدى المعلمين والمؤسسات التعليمية حول العالم. كل مستوى من ما قبل الروضة حتى المستوى التاسع مُعيَّن على مقياس الإطار الأوروبي، مع معايير دقيقة للنتائج والمفردات والقواعد والمهارات وفق كل فئة عمرية ومستوى كفاءة.
يستند المنهج كذلك إلى أبحاث اكتساب اللغة الثانية الراسخة: نظرية ستيفن كراشن في المدخلات المفهومة والترتيب الطبيعي للاكتساب، ومفهوم ليف فيغوتسكي لمنطقة التطور القريب والتعلم المدعوم، وفرضية مايكل لونج في التفاعل التي تضع التواصل الهادف في قلب اكتساب اللغة. هذه ليست حواشي نظرية بل هي قرارات تعليمية عملية مُضمَّنة في تصميم كل درس ونتيجة ودليل أسبوعي في هذه المنصة.
